Approach to Treatment

Carla believes in treating the body as a holistic, interconnected system. This shapes my treatment approach, ensuring that I don't just focus on the apparent problem areas but consider the entire body and its balance. My range of techniques includes mobilisations, massage, trigger point therapy, stretching, cranial osteopathy, and high-velocity thrusts, all aimed at enhancing joint mobility, helping alignment, improving nerve and blood supply to tissues, and relaxing tense muscles.

Specialized Care for Babies and Children

The 26 small bones in the baby’s head have not yet fused. This helps the baby’s head travel through the birth canal, it can however leave the head, along with the rest of the musculoskeletal system vulnerable to stresses and strains from pregnancy and childbirth. These can settle on their own but if not, may lead to digestive issues, sleep problems or misalignment like flat head syndrome. An osteopathic check-up post-birth may help prevent some of these issues. Cranial osteopathy is a very gentle technique suitable for babies and children of all ages.

Holistic Healing

A significant aspect of Carla’s practice is the integration of yoga. With over a decade of being a certified yoga instructor, Carla brings a unique blend of osteopathic skills and yogic insights to her treatments. She often recommends exercises, postures, and meditation techniques to complement the osteopathic treatments, aiding in the overall healing and maintenance process. Carla’s osteopathic training also integrated Naturopathy and Nutrition and this is emphasised in Carla’s approach where she focuses on the interconnectness of mind and body fostering a holistic journey toward well-being.
